Weekly Obsession: Late Night Talk Shows

Weekly Obsession: Late Night Talk Shows

I have been watching YouTube videos on my phone while lying in bed this past week. While I started with watching Ryan Higa, Natalie Tran, and some music videos, I found myself obsessing over episode clips from late night talk shows.

Late night talk shows are not new to me, I would watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live from time to time. But a few months back I stumbled upon The Late Late Show with James Corden and his carpool karaoke is very entertaining. I think it’s the most relaxed setting where he can interview artists while singing to their famous songs. He has carpooled with Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, Iggy Azalea, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber twice, One Direction recently, and the most epic in my opinion is that of with Stevie Wonder.

Speaking of One Direction, their Tattoo Roulette game with James Corden was intensely hilarious!

The thing with YouTube is, after watching a video you would end up clicking more videos and before you know it, it’s already 5am and you’re still awake. Yep. I enjoyed watching interviews as well. Late night talk shows often have a casual setting where celebrity guests can share their experiences as famous people and it’s very entertaining. I would find myself with a goofy smile or laughing out loud to their antics *ehem*Jennifer Lawrence*ehem*

I spent most of my time watching clips from The Norton Graham Show. He has the funniest interviews I’ve encountered. His studio has a very laid back setting where guests can have a drink and they end up talking about the funniest things. Unlike the usual one-on-one interview, Norton Graham usually has 4 to 5 people on his couch which makes it feel like a normal, intimate hangout between friends. It’s cool to see famous people interact like regular people.

I can’t tell what my favorite interview is because they’re all entertaining and funny. I’m just glad we have YouTube so people in 3rd world countries like me can still watch shows like these.
