#FlashbackFriday – The Sales Blitz Experience 2013
#FlashbackFriday, according to the Urban Dictionary:
Since posts usually end up in my drafts folder for months, I decided to use this meme when writing about things that happened in the past that I wanted to write about, but never got around to actually doing or a thing that happened before the internet/I started blogging.
Without further ado, here’s the story about The Sales Blitz Experience of 2013.
Part of my job as a marketer is to go visit other companies or offices and offer our restaurant’s services. More or less spreading awareness that we exist and there’s a branch near their place. In 2013 we had a sales blitz, that’s where participating branches support each other and saturate the offices within our RTA (Retail Trade Area). It means walking under the heat of the sun, going from one building to another, visiting offices after offices, handing out our brochure/flyers/promo vouchers & coupons and informing the contact person what we have to offer. I didn’t intend to go to all the scheduled dates but I thought it would be a great opportunity to see the other branches, especially the ones in the provinces.
The 2013 schedule:
April 16 – Nuvali and Tagaytay
April 22 – Makati Area (Glorietta 5, Greenbelt 3, Insular) and Market Market
April 25 – Alabang, Bicutan, and Cavite Area (Bacoor, Imus, DasmariΓ±as)
April 29 – Quezon City Area (Tomas Morato, Banawe, SM North, Trinoma, Congressional, and SM Fairview)
May 2 – Macapagal, Mall of Asia, and Manila Area (SM Manila, Ermita, Manila Ocean Park)
May 6 – Greenhills, Ali Mall, Silver City, and Marikina
May 7 – Baliwag and Subic
May 8 – Lipa and SM Batangas
May 9 – SM Pampanga, Marquee, Clark
I was so excited because even though I was working, I got the chance to “go out-of-town” and meet people from other outlets. It’s also a great way to bond with my colleagues. I took a lot of pictures, of course, which are uploaded in my Facebook account’s albums. There’s so many I can’t put them all here. But I did make a video compilation of the entire event.
I learned a lot from this experience that helped me with my job in the long run. My confidence level was also boosted to an all new high. I feel like I can talk to and deal with anybody, if I haven’t already been able to.
I also lost weight during the process. If you’d notice in the video, I was bigger when we started than after we finished, plus I also got a “tan”. It’s been a long time since I had dark skin, but I don’t mind. I still look good. Hahaha!
This year, we are doing it again. The Sales Blitz will cover 40 branches plus 2 sister/daughter stores in 16 days for a span of about two months.
The 2014 schedule:
January 27 – QC Area 1 (Tomas Morato, Banawe)
January 29 – QC Area 2 (Trinoma, SM North, Congressional, SM Fairview)
February 3 – QC -Marikina Area (Alimall, Eastwood, SM Marikina)
February 5 – Ortigas Area (Silver City, Greenhills)
February 6 – Makati Area (Insular, Glorietta 5, Greenbelt 3, Market-market)
February 10 – Tagaytay Area (Nuvali, Tagaytay)
February 12 – Batangas Area (Batangas, Lipa)
February 17 – Bulacan Area (Malolos, Baliwag)
February 19 – Pampanga Area (Pampanga, Marquee, Clark)
February 20 – Manila Area 1 (Binondo, SM Manila, Ermita)
February 24 – Manila Area 2 (Macapagal, MOA, MOP)
February 26 – Cavite Area (Bacoor, Imus, Dasmarinas)
February 27 – South Area (Southmall, Alabang)
March 17 – Tarlac
March 19 – Bataan, Subic, KNG Subic, Aresi
March 20 – South Area 2 (Bicutan, New Port)
Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending how one views it), I’m only assigned to support 3 other areas aside from my outlet. So that’s 4 days of sales blitz for me, I won’t be able to enjoy it this year as much as I hoped but it’s okay. It gives me a lot time to focus on other things, like working on my own store’s sales, especially in the delivery segment.
More work for me.
It is definitely not an easy task to visit other offices of companies. I think you are doing a good job.
It’s not. Sometimes you get turned down even before setting an appointment.
Well, at least you are enjoying your job and I am sure you can achieve what you need here π
WHat about in Sm Rosario? Haha joke! Goodluck to you dear!
Where is SM Rosario? I don’t think we have a branch there. π
Seems like a pretty busy schedule; but looks exciting as it will allow you to meet a lot of people, which I personally love. By the way, which restaurant are you marketing?
I work at Gerry’s Grill, assigned in Alabang Town Center
Good luck on your 2014 Sales Blitz schedule. I’m sure you will be looking back at it next year with the same sense of fulfillment even with a much tapered-down load.
I might. I will. π
Those perks of getting to get to travel and working is such a wonderful and satisfying experience talaga. π
Yes. I was hoping to get the chance to travel more, but this year I’m only scheduled on 4 trips. π
its still a good time as ever to meet new people and make new friends at every place that you visit
I’ve made a lot of new friends already.
You’re work is challenging but it’s really nice that you are enjoying it.
It is very challenging. Thank you π
Good luck with your schedule. ^_^
This looks like a great sale happening in different parts of the country. I’m sure bargain hunters would love this!
This is the kind of job I also want to do. At least you’re not confined within the 4 corners of the office.
Like everything else in life, it has its pros and cons. So far, the pros outweighs the cons. π
this looks so fun!! good luck to you and more success to your work! π
Thank you! It is fun. π
Wow you’re so busy! I wish you more productivity! Pero grabe everyday iba iba ng sched. I’m kinda loving marketing tho I’m an IT grad pero I want sa house lang. I salute you for doing a great job π
I finished computer science and am working in marketing. LOL.
You are on busy girl! haha..
