Vessel is a new website and app that provides early access to the web’s best short-form creators for a monthly subscription of $2.99. It was launched to the public last March 24 and offered a free one (1) year subscription to everyone who signed up on the first 72 hours. Now, that time has passed but do not fret.
Ellen DeGeneres has recently teamed up with Vessel and is offering the same deal to everyone who will sign up in the next 48 hours. I was fortunate enough to see this in my Facebook feed just an hour after it was posted on her official page, and I am now sharing it with you.
All you have to do is go this website: http://www.vessel.com/ellen, and sign up for your free account.
After filling up your information, you would be asked to choose which categories you are interested in watching.
And if there’s a particular show you want to subscribe to…
Then you can start watching videos of your favorite short-form creators!
What is the difference between watching from a free service like YouTube versus a paid service like Vessel? For one thing, there are no ads! Gone were the days when you can freely watch any video on YouTube without having to endure an ad you didn’t want to see in the first place.
In Vessel, creators offer their new videos exclusively for a limited time, typically 72 hours, before they release it everywhere else. While for some people this isn’t a big deal, there are others who would prefer to watch their favorite videos before anyone else.
Unfortunately, the Vessel app is available for Apple products only.
Honestly, I am not big on streaming videos but free subscription is free. 😉
