Part of my goal this year is to try out different restaurants, and this happens to be the first. Mom and I, with her friend, went to Nathaniel’s Bakeshop for lunch one Sunday afternoon after church. I’ve heard of that place before but didn’t know it was a restaurant.
It’s a small place in Molito, Alabang, and has the canteen vibe to it. I didn’t take pictures of the inside. They sell puto, puto pao, siopao, siomai, and other local delicacies. Nathaniel’s originated from Pampanga, and I’m so happy they have a branch nearby where I can go and buy my favorite puto pao.
The puto pao is so good! It is soft and chewy, and the meat in the middle is the best part. One serving is good enough for a snack. I especially love the salted egg on top of it, it adds more flavor to the whole thing. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. #nomnom
I had the beef steak which was so delicious! I love a good beef steak and the one from Nathaniel’s just made the top of my list. At first I thought the serving was small for Php140, but it did not disappoint and totally worth it.
Mom ordered this beef mami, which was also good. I forgot how much it costs though.
She also ordered Nilagang Bulalo which was okay, in my opinion. I think we have a better tasting Bulalo at Gerry’s Grill. Mom’s friend ordered the beef kaldereta, one I tried just last week.
The kaldereta was heavenly! The beef is tender and the sauce is full of flavor. I could have asked for another cup of rice but I didn’t want to eat too much.
All meals we consumed were accompanied by a bottle of buko pandan juice. Which also happens to be a good partner with all meals. <3
