Breakfast for Lunch, Canned Good for dinner

I’m back! There’s so many things to write about, so many things I neglected to write just because I was busy with my book blog. I have to find a balance between my blogs. πŸ™

We just moved to a new house because the old one got flooded. That is one of the things I want to write about, but I’ll do that on a different day. Today I just want to share, because I feel so good about this, that I made breakfast for lunch! LOL.

If you didn’t know yet, I’m not exactly a cook. I can fry, boil, heat food, and make simple dishes but I don’t really cook. This morning, however, mom and I were lazing in the bedroom when I got hungry and decided to whip something up for the both of us. We had corned beef and eggs in the kitchen so I heated a pan and heated up the corned beef and cooked eggs.

We didn’t have salt, or at least, we can’t find it yet. I tasted the corned beef and it was salty so I sprinkled some on the eggs. We had a hearty breakfast for lunch. πŸ™‚

For dinner, mom boughtΒ laingΒ when she went out earlier in the afternoon, but I don’t eat that so I opened one of the canned goods she bought too. I chose this squid kare-kare, which sounded weird but it was pretty good. I could taste the peanut in the sauce and the squid meat was tender. If I remember correctly, it had 4-5 pieces of squid.

Hopefully I’ll write here more often again. I have sooo many things to share and even if nobody cares what I write, I do this partly for myself anyway, so I would remember. πŸ™‚

perfect breakfast. My husband miss the Philippines made corned beef big time .I used to serve it to him ,fried corned beef with julianne cut potato, and it became one of his favorite dish. he even keep telling his son about the corned beef last week when he went grocery shopping with us. ahaha, and the squid is his most hated dish .there is a funny story behind it too.will tell you next time .Hope you are doing okay now after the flood.

Actually, it’s nice to eat canned goods since at times since it’s a lot easier to prepare and also perfect when eaten with family and friends.

True. I don’t even ~*~know~*~ how to cook. I usually pretend I know how to and experiment with what I know.

Thanks! I can only do so much as we just moved and we don’t have a fridge to stock up on food.

True. It saves time with preparation and cooking. I find it funny that it takes hours to prepare and cook and only minutes to eat them all. LOL. As convenient as canned goods are, we shouldn’t eat it often because it’s not healthy.

Thanks ma’am Tess. I love corned beef and eggs separately, and having them together makes me so happy. Lol. I asked my mom to buy potatoes and onions so when I cook another can of corned beef, it would have those. Hehe.

Well, canned goods are delicious but you have to carefully read the labels before buying them. Too much of canned goods is not good for the health also because of the too much preservatives in it =) Why don’t you buy Yummy Magazine, I am able to cook just following the recipes and there are lots of easy recipes featured there =)

I’m not a good cook either but there’s nothing wrong in playing pretend, hahaha. Anyway, next time try making scramble egg then mix the corned beef in it just to give you different ways in cooking eggs and corned beef.

Thanks Irene! We’re better off in this new place even if it’s a bit far from the main road.

We usually have breakfast for dinner. LOL. There really shouldn’t be dedicated for meals, we should just eat what we want to, when we want to.

True. My mom usually does the grocery and she doesn’t just get anything, she makes sure its healthy or doesn’t have MSG. πŸ™‚

Thanks for the recommendation, but I can always find recipes online. XD

canned food so very useful in many times, especially when you get used to eating the usual dishes it is a much welcome reprieve to switch to the can…
