Sunday Park Day With Kendo The Pug

It has been a long time since I took Kendo out to the park. Last week I promised to take him to the park after I get him checked up at the vet on Sunday. Just like the smart dog that he is, he was very observant of me as I walked around the house preparing to leave. He knew I was going out and that he’s coming with me.

We ended up not going to the vet but we still went to the park. Oh the joy on his face as we made our way to the park. If I’m not mistaken, the last time I took him out for a special bonding time was 2 years ago. Kendo is turning 11 this year and his eyesight is not as good as it used to be. He used to run ahead of me, pick a spot to pee, and see if I was still nearby. Now he walks beside me making sure I’m walking on his left side, where he can see me.

There’s a fountain at Molito Park where kids love to play. I knew Kendo would love to splash around the cold water after a long walk, just as he used to when we would go to Serendra.

There was a cool breeze at the park so we settled at one of the tables to rest while I waited for a friend to come hang out with us. When I got hungry, we went to Jollibee and I left him outside by the door where he waited, the guard watching over Kendo as he kept his eyes on me. We went back to the park where I ate my merienda.

I tried to make him go play at the fountain again but he wasn’t interested. There were two girls who wanted to play with him but he was ignoring them. They patted his head, scratched behind his ear, and have him hugs. It was so cute. I took a photo because it was super precious.

We stayed at the park till night time. My friend eventually arrived and we chose a patch of grass to sit at. Kendo was pretty tired so I gave him a massage as he slept on my legs.

We had a lovely time at the park and I couldn’t help but feel a little sad that I couldn’t take all my furbabies with me. I can only take them one at a time. I want to take Kendo with me again, but I might have to bring someone else next time.

If you want to see more of Kendo, I’ve created a Facebook page and an Instagram account. It doesn’t get updated often, but I do post his #puglife from time to time.
