I have been sitting in the same spot for about 3 or 4 hours now. For the first couple of hours i was like a giddy little girl, because this is a first for me. I am in a coffee shop inside a mall, with my mom’s netbook in my lap as she went to purchase a generator for the shop. We talked about this weeks ago, but what made it final was the power outage that started last night. It went out again this afternoon and when we got back from her errands around 6pm tonight, she said we should make our move to keep things going, or business will die.
Before, i used to wonder how people could stand to do this, buy the cheapest cup of coffee and spend ‘n’ hours slowly sipping it so they could be called customers and use the free wifi offer. Right now i am that person, only, i didn’t get the cheapest cup of coffee, i had a large frappe and a pasta dinner. I do not feel guilty for abusing their generosity.
I am bored. I am in a couch, comfortable, but still, nothing beats the comfort of being in your own home, drinking unlimited free coffee/juice, surfing the night away.

I get a lot of pleasure, just sitting in a cafe (minus the laptop though, although I have two of those). When I’m at a cafe, I just either like to use the time to reflect and observe people (OK, not in a creepy way, LOL) or chat with my friends (when we can find the time to see each other). I use computers all day long (I’m a software tester), so the less I use them… the happier I am. It’s amazing how much of life you can live more fully… without being near technology.
Tim Tams, forever!
